Motorcycling in the News

Ride to Vote - Vote to Ride - Tuesday, November 2nd

We are just two weeks away from the mid-term general election. We have explained before that ABATE of Indiana, as a 501(c)(3) charitable not-for-profit corporation, cannot endorse political candidates or contribute financially to campaigns. However, as motorcyclists involved in the legislative process, we all are very concerned about who is ultimately elected to serve the people.

There are numerous issues that will be addressed soon at the state and federal level that are of critical importance to motorcyclists. It is imperative that we have legislators that are supportive of our efforts concerning motorcycle safety and awareness as well as preserving the freedom of the road that Hoosier bikers enjoy. Several motorcycle friendly candidates were defeated in the May primary election. Let's not allow that to happen in November. Get involved. Do some research and find out which candidates back motorcycle issues.

It's not difficult to find out who the pro-motorcycling choices are. Call the candidate personally and offer to assist in spreading the word and "get the vote out". Make some calls and encourage your friends to support those that support us.

Ride to the polls on Tuesday November 2nd. Get some buddies together and create an impromptu poker run (I can call it that as long as we are not organizing, promoting or conducting it) where you ride together as a group to each other's polling place. This way the other voters (and everyone else) see a bunch of civic minded riders rather than just one. If we are to be successful in having legislation passed that allows for motorcycles to continue to exist for future generations, we are going to need support from our elected representatives and we need your help to accomplish that. This is REALLY important.

We're not going to tell you HOW to vote, but we are going to tell you TO vote.

Get the vote out on November 2nd. Ride To Vote - Vote To Ride
